Life Drawing

Artist: Craig Martin

Medium: Watercolour, graphic pen, acrylic

Size: 920 x 720mm (including frame)

“Oh man this one gives me such wonderful feels. I had a funny chat with a friend about the idea of having a life drawing class where the model is clothed and all the artists are naked. That was where this idea began but in the sketching phase it went somewhere entirely unexpected. She has broken free from the convention of a standard life drawing class. Leaving all things human behind she jumped naked and vulnerable into the world to be inspired by nature itself. Drawing life in its most authentic state. I especially love that the baby whale, like all things young and insatiably curious, has stopped to see what this strange, hairy, pink fish is up to. Or maybe it is offering itself as a model. I’m not sure.”
