Here I wanted to carry the power of earth’s largest mammal and have it sit somehow naturally with one of earth’s most vulnerable mammals. They share space together with pure freedom. I think this might be an attempt to illustrate that we are all sharing this planet. With all our fears and confusions we can fall to desperation so easily and forget that the planet doesn’t belong to any single person, culture or species. It belongs to all living creatures. Deep in our hearts, beneath all the noise and need, we are innocent creatures simply trying to find our way. In this truth we connect most authentically to nature. And nature in turn receives us with such benevolence.  – Craig Martin, Artist
