Lucy Geijskes

I have lived in Tropical Far North Queensland for most of my adult life, growing up in Townsville and moving to Cairns as a teenager with my Mum. Since then, I have lived in a few places across Australia but have always returned to this beautiful part of the world.
Here, I am surrounded by World Heritage rainforest and amazing fauna that is not found anywhere else in the world. Inspiration is easy to find.

As a child, I loved the natural world and after leaving school I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Zoology.

I am a self-taught artist and have developed my skills while balancing a busy life filled with work and family. Drawing and painting when I could, I learnt how to capture the beauty of birds, frogs and other creatures in detailed pencil artworks and acrylic paintings.
I currently create highly detailed coloured pencil artworks using Faber Castell Polychromos Coloured Pencils on Arches Watercolour paper, using high quality media to ensure the longevity of the image.

My artwork comes from my love of nature and the desire to share this with others so they can see the value in preserving our unique habitats, flora, and fauna.
I am passionate about conservation and a percentage of the sale of my artworks goes to wildlife conservation charities, in particular, the Bush Heritage Australia and Birdlife Australia.
I hope you enjoy my artwork and my vibrant depictions of the wildlife and wilderness of my beautiful home in the Tropics.
